Bucharest, Romania
This large scale mixed use development is to replace an unmaintained park situated at the south east side of the Bucharest City Center. The design intention was to generate a lively urban landscape and to preserve the park like atmosphere.
In order to accomplish these goals our design uses extensive green roofs. Their irregular geometry is a result of the spatial and functional needs, which mimic the natural landscape of the site.
The four towers, inspired by Brancusi’s Endless Column, contain a large amount of concentrated space in order to free as much space as possible at the ground level. The tower contains a mix of office and residential spaces along with a hotel.
The retail and multiplex spaces are developed along the Dambovita river.
This 50 ha development is scheduled for completion within a ten year period.
Estimated project cost — $500 million.
