Situated in a fast growing area of Romania between the city of Brasov and an existing, world famous ski resort called Poiana Brasov, this 16 hectare ski resort development includes public parks and facilities, mixed-use retail/commercial/condominiums, a hotel and conference center with an arena and open-air tennis courts. The focal point of the mast plan is the hotel complex. With 100 rooms, restaurants, and a conference center, this facility will be the gateway to the site, situated prominently above the entrance. As the main circulation road weaves its way up the mountain, the facilities transition from larger scaled elements to smaller mixed-use buildings. There is also several luxury single-family homes that exist at the top of the mountain. They remain hidden in the forest along the mountain ridge. The MRA team provided a design that preserved the condition of the site and allowed the inhabitants to experience its natural beauty.
